The Michael Tigar Human Rights & Global Justice Cohort program provides scholarships, mentorship, community, and personalized career guidance to the next generation of human rights lawyers who are studying at the University of Texas School of Law. From the moment they step on campus, Cohort members are exposed individually and as a group to faculty, alumni, staff, and others working in human rights locally and around the world.
“Meeting Michael Tigar was the highlight of my time in the Human Rights and Global Justice Cohort. It was empowering to see his passion for supporting students and a privilege to hear insights from his long and distinguished career. I still reflect on our discussion about how to do the best work that you can, even where victory is not always feasible.”
—Camille Meshack, Member of 2024–25 Human Rights and Global Justice Cohort
