Thank you for your generous contribution to The Alex Hughes Scholarship Fund at Texas Law.
Alex Hughes graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 2013. Before law school, he served as an Army officer in Iraq, where he earned a Bronze Star. While in law school, Alex was a member of the Texas Law Review, the national champion Costello Trial Advocacy team, and a Presidential Scholarship in Law recipient. After graduating, Alex clerked for Judge Gregg Costa on the Southern District of Texas (Galveston) and Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Alex then worked as a litigator in Houston and ultimately became chief legal officer of a crypto company.
Alex passed away in 2024. To honor his memory—as a decorated combat veteran and loyal Texas Law alum—classmates and friends created the Alex Hughes Scholarship Fund at the Texas Law. The scholarship will support a high achieving student at the School of Law, with a preference for a veteran.
