Laura Beckworth is a native of Houston, Texas. She graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, BA 1980, Phi Beta Kappa, and The University of Texas School of Law, J.D., 1983.
She is a Founding Member of the University of Texas School Of Law Center for Women and Law and Former Chair of the Development Board of the University of Texas at Austin, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center Advisory Council and of The Board of Directors of Austin PBS.
Ms. Beckworth received the University of Texas School of Law’s Alumni Award for Community Service in 2005.
She and her husband, John Beckworth, enjoy spending evenings on their boat on Lake Austin.
