Michelle P. Goolsby is a graduate of The University of Texas where she received her B.B.A. in Accounting, with honors in 1980 and of The University of Texas School of Law where she received her J.D., with honors in 1983.
Ms. Goolsby currently serves as an independent board member for public, private and nonprofit organizations. She serves on the board of The Simply Good Foods Company (NASDAQ: SMPL), and acts as Chair of the Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Committee and as a member of the Governance Committee. She is also a member of the board of Capstead Mortgage Corporation (NYSE: CMO), chairing the Compensation Committee and serving on the Audit and Executive Committees. Previously, Ms. Goolsby served as a member of the Board of Directors of WhiteWave Foods Company (NYSE: WWAV) from 2012 until its sale to Danone S.A. in 2017, at which time she became an Advisory Board member for Danone North America.
Ms. Goolsby has executive leadership experience across many corporate functions and extensive knowledge of the broad consumer marketplace. From 2008 to 2018, she served as a venture partner and member of the Investment Committee of Greenmont Capital Partners II, a private equity firm in Boulder, CO focused on investing in companies in the natural products industry. Previously, she was a member of the senior executive team of Dean Foods Company where she held the positions of Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Administrative Officer and Head of Corporate Development. Prior to Dean, Ms. Goolsby was a Partner at Winstead, P.C. and Chair of the firm’s Business Section.
Ms. Goolsby is a founding member of the Center for Women in Law at The University of Texas at Austin School of Law. She also serves as Chair of the Board of Vitamin Angels Alliance, a global nonprofit organization working to address malnutrition in at-risk populations in need.
