Rene Gonzalez is an international lawyer, possessing strong leadership skills with a proven track record of organizational transformation, talent development, and management of complex transactions and issues, who has served in leadership positions with Exxon Mobil Corporation. Currently, he serves as the General Counsel for ExxonMobil Exploracao Brasil Ltda. He has served in this position since September 2020.
Before Brazil, Rene served as General Counsel in ExxonMobil affiliates in Thailand, China, Colombia, and Mexico with responsibility for transactional, litigation, corporate, securities, regulatory, compliance and risk management matters. He has been with ExxonMobil for 28 years and has spent the last 12 of those years working overseas.
He is a 1990 graduate of the University of Texas with a BA with Honors in Government and a 1993 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law.
